Racing sloop: Van de StadtPionier The boat is beautiful and fast, and it also is very easy to sail.

It was constructed in the Netherlands, 1964, sailed for some time, but then put in covered storage for many years, completely stripped, all parts refurbished or replaced, and reassembled, with launching in 1999.

While it was built for rugged North Atlantic off-shore racing, it has been used, relatively infrequently, for only six years in Lake Superior for the five-month seasons since its refurbishing.

Basic structure: fiberglass reinforced polyester, dark hunter green hull with red stripe, beige deck, teak trim.

Sails: Main 204 sq.ft. storm and working jibs, 247 sq.ft.Genoas for three wind conditions, and 540 sq.ft. spinnaker.

Motor: inboard 10 hp 2 cylinder, 2 cycle Swedish Fare-Gota, for gas-oil or possible kerosene, fwd and reverse via folding 2 blade prop.

Cabin equipment: Four berths, head, water, sink, ice chest, basic instruments and radio.

Other: spare motor and main, many accessories, parts.
