Come see this boat at Farallone Yachts Alameda, CA (510 523 6730) ask for Dinah.
The 260 has a swing centerboard that draws 6 feet when lowered and has a water ballast system that makes it ideal for towing by allowing you to add 2,000 pounds of displacement after launching.
The displacement without the water ballast is 3,000 pounds, (Trailer and boat ~ 4000 lbs.) which is well within the towing capacity of most full size cars and SUVs.
The trailer features dual axels with surge brakes on each axel and a spare tire.
The 260 has a standard full batten main and 110 percent furling jib using halyards that are led neatly back to the cockpit.
This 260 has the wheel steering with remote electric start, throttle and gear shift for the 9.9HP 4 stroke Mercury.
The rudder and the outboard are linked for easy steering under power and the remote electric tilt/trim can raise the motor completely out of the water without unlinking from the rudder.
A Tack Tick wireless depth/speed system and Ritchie compass complete the helm set up.
The walk through stern boasts a telescoping hinged swimming ladder and a convenient platform for securing the kick up rudder.
The cockpit can be covered by the bimini on warm sunny days and cockpit cushions are included for comfort while sailing or lounging.
Companionway canvas can be raised at anchor or dockside to provide additional cabin comfort.
A deep well in the foredeck keeps both anchor and rode out of the way until needed and includes a convenient bow roller.
With the exception of the head compartment with sink, vanity, and Porta Potti; the interior is open.
The starboard side galley comes with a small sink, manual water system, and butane stove.
An insulated cooler located in a built in locker serves as an icebox.
The overall effect is attractive and airy with a nice finish and well chosen colors creating a welcoming space below.
A huge U shaped dinette surrounds the cabin table.
There are three opening ports and large windows that provide light and ventilation.
A V berth in the bow has curtains for some privacy.
The main double berth is aft.
The list of features goes on and on: full DC electrical system, hanging wet locker, recessed fuel tank locker behind the helm, well thought out dish storage for the set of signature Hunter dishes provided in the galley, and 3 coat anti-fouling bottom paint.
The inventory even includes 4 PFDs, and 2 fire extinguishers, and an AM/FM CD player with IPOD interface complements the cabin.
