AMERICA was “Best Antique Runabout 22’ and over’” at the First International ACBS Boat Show at the 27th Annual Meeting in September 2002 held at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
AMERICA also was awarded “Best Engine of Show” at the 2002 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance for its John Matzen/Dave Wright restored original Scripps V-12 Model 302 12 cylinder engine.
AMERICA was awarded “Best Gar Wood of Show” at the March 2003 16th Annual Mount Dora Antique Boat Festival, Mount Dora, Florida

AMERICA IS ONE OF ONLY TEN 28 FOOT TRIPLE COCKPIT RUNABOUTS ORIGINALLY POWERED WITH THE SCRIPPS MODEL 302 V-12 ENGINE.
THE FIRST WAS DELIVERED IN AUGUST, 1934, AND THE LAST IS “FORTY PINES” WHICH SOLD (8/04) FOR $350,000, (exclusive of Commissions and pending bottom restoration costs.) EIGHT OF THESE TRIPLES ARE STILL KNOWN TO EXIST.
SIX WERE SOLD BY JAKE OBEXER AT LAKE TAHOE.
AMERICA WAS ORIGINALLY SHIPPED TO THE WISCONSIN TRANSPORTATION CO.
IN LAKE GENEVA, WISCONSIN ON JUNE 8, 1937.
