| | | | 1967 Bertram Custom, with a keel-up rebuild/customization completed in September of 2004.
Surveyed and insured as a new boat at that time for $45,000 BEFORE I added the t-top, Volvo QL boat leveling system and all electronics.
The boat has a trailer and is located at in an indoor storage facility in southern NH.
As far as work done, the easiest way to answer that is to say that the only original part still on the boat is the hull and 3/4 of the topsides.
Starting at the bottom, she received a new backbone and stringer system, new transom core and inner portion, new monocoque deck made of Nidacore composite material and glass, all new closed-cell floatation foam, new bulkheads fore and aft that are permanent and tied into the deck and hull structure, new custom 75 gallon, powder coated aluminum
fuel tank, all new electrical system with dual deep cycle batteries, new SeaStar hydraulic steering system, new 160 hp Volvo D3 common rail turbo diesel with SX outdrive (310 hours since new), new Volvo QL boat leveling system (kicks the crap out of trim tabs), new custom powder coated leaning post, new custom powder coated t-top with Stratglass enclosure, new electronics including a JRC 1800 CP color radar/chartplotter, Furuno 600L color lcd fish finder with an Airmar tilted element x-ducer, Pioneer stereo, Standard vhf, pop-up cleats (4), 4 rod holders (2 CJ Marine swivels and 2 Lees with removable swivel inserts), painted all
with ProLine paints linear polyurethane.
I don’t think I missed anything, but that’s what I mean by a total keel-up customization.
I don't want to sell her, but with a new boat almost ready to go, she'll sit around and that's just wrong-she's too cool for that fate...
